City Go Top

Bristol City moved to top of the Championship yesterday and moved one step closer to the Premiership after beating Hull City 2-1 at Ashton Gate.

Striker Dele Adebola gave City the lead after just 14 minutes when he latched on to a defensive mix-up and slotted the ball home.

The goal seemed to wake Hull up and they got back on level terms when Liam Fontaine put the ball into his own net, but straight after the break City were in front again. Captain Jamie McCombe scored a stunning overhead kick to put City 2-1 up and give City three more vital points.

City are now top of the Championship with eleven games to go.
