Bristol City Win Programme Award

Bristol City has won the Programme Master Best Matchday Programme Award at the 2008 Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo`s Top 50 Football League Players.

The club received the award at a gala dinner at The London Hilton, Park Lane on Sunday 2nd March 2008 in front of over 800 attendees from clubs, sponsors and the football industry.

For their winning entry, Bristol City achieved excellence in the design of their programme and for the use of their imagery, originality and overall content. At a convenient new A5 size, the programme included unrivalled coverage of the club from stories on the action to more off-the-wall photography shoots, and in-depth interviews to give a more rounded look at the team.

Bristol City`s Ed Furness, Head of Media and Marketing, on receiving the Best Matchday Programme Award at the 2008 Football League Awards said:

"All of the clubs who have been nominated produce very good programmes and we are honoured to win this award because of the prestige of the event. This year I felt there was a very high standard and to win it is a great reflection on the team that works hard to put it together. We are doing very well on the pitch and off it!"

Championship club Hull City was also highly commended by the judges for their programme.

Speaking of the standard of entries, the judging panel commented that "it is clear clubs are taking a lot of effort to provide supporters with a product which is both informative but also great value."

Commenting on the 2008 Football League Awards, The Football League Chairman, Lord Mawhinney, said: "For the third consecutive year, The Football League Awards has been an enormous success.

"Once again, it has given us the opportunity to recognise and reward the outstanding contributions made by fans, clubs and players to the continued growth and development of league football."

The number one spot in the FourFourTwo Top 50 Football League Players went to West Bromwich Albion striker, Kevin Phillips, followed by Andy Gray of Charlton and Michael Kightly of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The full list of The Top 50 Football League Players can be found either in the April issue of FourFourTwo which is on sale now, or on the FourFourTwo website www.fourfourtwo.com

The Football League Awards show will be aired on Sky Sports 1 on Thursday 6th March at 8pm.
