It is reported on one of the Bournemouth web sites that David Cotterill is poised for a £1 million summer move to Premiership Fulham.
I sincerely hope that this is not the case as I feel David is improving all the time and that his presence in the Ashton squad can only improve our chances of achieving our ambitions. I also believe that David would benefit more from spending another season or two in our first team rather than playing reserve team football which, undoubtedly, would be his initial lot at Craven Cottage.
However one must be realistic, Steve Lansdown informed us yesterday of the details of Scott Goldbourne's transfer to Reading, and his desire to move. Should Cotterill feel the same way then City cannot really stand in his way, and whilst I feel that the fee mentioned is low for a player of such potential and who is already a full international, I am sure that the our shrewd chairman will insist on all types of appearance and sell on clauses to make the transfer more acceptable.
