Nicky Maynard signs for Bristol City

Misfud a misfit, is Emad? Will Maynard leave us in a pickle?

Bristol City today confirmed the signing of Nicky Maynard on a four year deal. The transfer cost City £2.25 million from Crewe Alexandra, but it appears that City finally have their man.

Nicky Maynard scored with his first touch in league football and has scored 35 goals in 57 starts and just two years of first team football... and this despite suffering a broken leg on the first game of last season. He came back and scored 11 in a 7 game spell just to make up for lost time.

For anyone questioning the price; Luke Varney's record was not as good and yet he went to Charlton for £2 million. He scored 27 in 68 appearances for Crewe.

The Net Centre reckon the mystery Austrian is a giant 6'3" centre forward called Ilčo Naumoski. I can see Maynard feeding well off his scraps.

I'm made up with this signing, has to be better than misfit or the mad bloke.

alot of bloody money for a lower league striker. nevertheless he was a goal machine and only 21. if he can step up into this league you could have a real gem. good to see you being ambitious following up your superb form last season. somehow though i think this season will be totally different.

A 3 goal debut. I've seen enough. Money well spent.
