McIndoe On Nicky Maynard

McIndoe On Nicky Maynard

Bristol City's Michael McIndoe shares his views on new signing Nicky Maynard, following the young striker's dream debut against Royal Antwerp.

'We've had a decent pre-season trying out against different styles of football - we've played Belgian, English and Portuguese sides. It's been a good standard. Our most recent opposition were Royal Antwerp on Friday night. We beat them 4-0.

'Our new signing Nicky Maynard made his debut against Antwerp and got three in his first game. I've only trained with him for a few days, but he looks good. Getting that hat-trick was excellent. Hopefully he can do the same in competitive games. We've paid a lot of money for him but he could be well worth every penny. I`m sure he and our other new boy Gavin Williams will bed in well.

'We have let seven or eight go over the summer so hopefully we'll be adding a couple more before the window shuts. I'm sure the manager and the chairman will be eyeing up a few new signings. We'll have to wait and see what happens.'
