Betsey Leaves for Southend not Swindon
Kevin Betsey has joined Southend United for a nominal undisclosed fee. He joined Bristol City for £150,000 from Wycombe Wanderers in January 2007 having impressed in their FA Cup exploits particularly against Chelsea. Although he was part of a promotion winning squad he never really broke into the first team. He spent much of last season out on loan. He had been attracting interest from 'City old boys' Swindon Town.
Meanwhile Richard Keogh has not been successful in arranging a move to Championship rivals Doncaster Rovers. He remains a useful squad resource as a backup option at centre back. However he has felt the wrath of Chairman Steve Lansdown who maintains that he will not play for Bristol City again after failing to respond to the clubs offer of a revised contract.
Youngsters James Wilson and Frankie Artus have both joined Brentford on loan for a month to hopefully gain useful first team experience.
