Christian Roberts Retires

Swindon Town midfielder Christian Roberts has announced his retirement from professional football after failing to recover from a knee injury.

Roberts joined our local rivals Swindon and had recovered form well after a number of problems with injury, alcohol and driving accidents. The latest injury proved a set back too far for the Welsh winger who was touted as a future Welsh international when joining Bristol City from Exeter City.

City fans will remember him most for his injury time winner, in the Play Off semi final against Hartlepool, that took City to the final at the Millenium Stadium where they were fated to lose to Brighton.
