10 mins: a City free kick on the edge of the box is fired straight into the wall.

14 mins; GOAL Another mix up in Citys defence sees Kevin Doyle score confidently.

15 mins: GOAL Same again only this time Noel Hunt scores.

17 mins: Elliott shoots but hits McIndoe in the back.

18 mins: A crude challenge from Maynard sees hin rightly booked.

19 mins: A Reading player is booked for pulling down Maynard.

22 mins: Basso claims a dangerous Doyle cross with Hunt poised for a tap in.

32 mins: A bizarre pass by Lee Johnson puts Nicky Hunt through but Fontaine covers well.

33 mins: A tame Reading shot from the edge of the box is comfortably saved by Basso.

38 mins: Doyle tests Basso from 30 yards before John shoots wide and then Basso claws out a Reading effort. Pulsating stuff.

45 mins: A looping effort from Marvin Elliott lands on the roof of the net.

58 mins: Treble substitution Noble for Johnson, Trundle for Sproule, Akinde for Maynard Huge cheer for the Johnson substitution.

James Harper said before the game that someone was due a tonking, looks like it is us.

68 mibs: Someone unpronouncable comes on for Reading.

72 mins: Kevin Doyle is replaced by Shane Long. A ripple of applause from the City faithful maybe relieved to see the back of him.

77 mins Basso saves well.

78 mins: Nicky Hunt breaks free bit Fontaine catches him up to tackle well.

80 mins: City force a coyple of corners. Bradley Orr shoots wide.

79 mins: Another unpronouncable comes on for James Harper.

80 mins: Bradley Orrs shot is saved.

The East End will console themselves that they sang loud and proud all game.

93 mins: Stern John gets a deserved reward for his efforts with a neat finish off the underside of the bar.

It has to be said this was a thoroughly entertaining game despite the result.

It does not help when they are gifted three goals though. This game was end to end. Equal chances. Unequal finishing.
