Iriekpen lands City trial and latest on Brooker

Gary Johnson today confirmed rumours that Bristol City have taken former Swansea defender Izzy Iriekpen on trial.

Iriekpen had been strongly linked with a move to Ashton Gate over the last 24 hours after Billy Reid, manager of SPL outfit Hamilton Academical, suggested to journalists that he had opted for a move to City over Hamilton.

Iriekpen had been a free agent for ten days after rejecting a new contract with Scunthorpe and he now has a short spell at Ashton Gate to prove his worth to the team and earn a permanent contract.

Meanwhile Steve Brooker was today in Doncaster undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed transfer to the Keepmoat Stadium, however Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll stated that the medical could take up until the middle of the week to complete.
