CITY STRIKER WOE

City skipper Steve Brooker is to see a specialist amidst fears that the knee injury which is, at present, keeping him on the sidelines is more serious than was, at first, thought. The ex port Vale man is still experiencing discomfort and believes that surgery may be required.

Whist Steve's continued absence would be a setback to City's hopes of a strong finish to the campaign the most important thing is to have a fit Brooker raring to go at the start of next season. In addition manager Gary Johnson will have further opportunities to assess Mark McCammon's
suitability for a permanent contract as he would, no doubt, continue to partner Dave Cotterill in City's attack for the remainder of the season.

Another City striker in the wars is Marcus Stewart who has sustained a hamstring injury which will, almost certainly, rule him out of the rest of Preston North End's season, although the City man hopes to be fit in time for the play offs, assuming Preston are involved.
