Johnson keen to keep keeper

Gary Johnson hopes to keep Bristol City goalkeeper Adriano Basso at Ashton Gate for a few more seasons to come.

The Brazilian is into the last year of his current contract with City and the manager has already got in a new offer for the player to mull over.

Johnson told the Bristol Evening Post: 'He came here on a free transfer and has been absolutely fantastic for us. We would like to keep him around for as long as we possibly can.

'He has been a major part of the success we have enjoyed over the last few years. He has had a wonderful Bristol City career and I will be doing everything I can to keep him here.'
