'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Johnson mulls over Eremenko deal.

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson is pondering over whether or not to offer Finland international Aleksei Eremenko a permanent deal.

The midfielder has been on trial with the Robins and appeared in Monday night`s 2-1 win over Hereford at Edgar Street.

The player was spotted by City`s chief scout playing for Russian club FC Saturn, now Johnson has to make up his mind about the 26 year old.

He told the Bristol Evening Post: 'It's wrong to describe Alexei as a trialist. He's an established international with a good pedigree.

'He's someone who was spotted by my brother, Pete, and we've had him watched a number of times, playing both for Finland and his club side in Russia.

'We've liked what we've seen and that's why we've decided to invite him over here so we can have a closer look.'
