Johnson Opens Talks With Lejsal

Bristol City have opened negotiations with FC Brno over the signing of highly-rated Czech keeper Martin Lejsal.

Lejsal, 26, has been on trial with the Robins since regular number one Adriano Basso slapped in a transfer request last week.

He has completed 90 minutes in friendlies at Dorchester and Saturday's home game with Wolves, which has prompted manager Gary Johnson to open talks with his representatives.

Johnson, speaking to the club's website after the comfortable 2-0 home win over the Premiership newboys, said 'He looks the part and we've seen him in training.'

'He's a big lad, a solid keeper. We've got his representatives here and we'll discuss the way forward with them.'

'A season-long loan looks the option for us and we'll see how the talks go. But we mustn't forget Dean Gerken, who is a good signing and he'll get 90 minutes at Yeovil.'

Lejsal is very well thought of his is homeland of the Czech Republic and was recently being tracked by City's Championship rivals QPR.
