Cardiff City v Bristol City, Sunday 13:15

Cardiff host Bristol City at the new Cardiff City Stadium today at 13:15. The new stadium seems to have given the Blues a boost of confidence, and no one less than their top scorer. Michael Chopra. This content is likely to be a battle of the forwards as Nicky Maynard has promised at least 20 league goals this season, and is well on his way with three already to his name.

Sky Sports are showing the game and hopefully the fixture can live up to the expectations as the sun is out and the tension should provide an excellent curtain raiser for both teams fortunes this season.

In this fixture last year at Ninian Park, City came away with a 2-1 win, and I`ve no doubt that most fans would take this result. Having kept two clean sheets in the previous two home games, fans would naturally be hoping Gerken can keep up his good form and see City pick up their first away win of the season.

Cardiff key player: Michael Chopra. With six goals already this season, keeping the prolific striker under control is key to getting anything from this fixture

Bristol City key player: Paul Hartley. If Cardiff have a weakness is it their midfield, and although we may look to Maynard for goals, Hartley can put his experience and tempo control to great use this afternoon by dictating play and creating space for the City forwards.

Come on you Reds!
