Delusional Basso Rebuffs City Again

Wantaway goalie Adriano Basso has again knocked back the City after being issued with an ultimatum at the start of the month.

Nut-job Basso, 34, genuinely believes he is destined for bigger things despite City failing to receive ONE single enquiry for his services since being listed in August.

Chairman Steve Lansdown was eager to draw a line under the saga by pressing Basso to make a final decision on his future.

But Lansdown told the Bristol Evening Post: "Adriano and I have been talking, but there has been no change.

"It is a policy of mine not to discuss players' contracts in public, but Adriano and I understand one another and are happy with the situation."

Although the terms of the offer remain undisclosed, the South American was thought to have received new terms which would have made him one of the highest earners at the club.

Basso was first offered a new deal back in February this year but has rejected every advance to date, despite being advised by his agent to pen the deal.

The only possible destination I can recommend for him is the nut-asylum down the road at Barrow Gurney. And good riddance, at that.

Sort of player I wouldn't touch with a barge-pole! Delusional is right!

Seriously what the hell is going on. Not sure why he is still playing games for us while this is going on, what does that say to our other keepers? Also, if it isn't a final big-money contract he is after how long is it going to take him to realise that he isn't going to be playing Premiership football this season, and probably not the next.

He genuinely believes he's good enough for the Prem and has an outside chance of making Brazil's WC squad! If that ain't delusional, I dunno what is! He ought to remember where he came from (Woking reserves), kipping on his mates floor, on the dole. We made him.
