Johnson: "We Looked All Over The Place"

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson felt his side had "nicked a point" after a poor performance in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday were ravaged by injury and illness ahead of the game in what looked to be a home banker.

But the visitors dominated for large periods and needed a Luke Varney strike 15 minutes from time to cancel out Nicky Maynard's opener.

Speaking to Radio Bristol after the match, Johnson said: "From start to finish it was a poor performance individually and as a team.

"We didn't reach any level in terms of football or play that warrants us being a top six side.

"You get these games at times and it's been a while since we've been like Fred Carno at the back, which we were today. Dean has saved us again with some smart saves.

"We looked all over the place. I suppose you could say we gained a point today because we were so poor. We nicked a point."

City will need to regroup before travelling to in-form Nottingham Forest next weekend ahead of the international break.

He admits that it wasn't good enough, now he must do something about it.

He needs to find out and stick to his best XI every week now. The time's come to ship out his boy, McCombe, Brian Wilson and Sproule and use the funds to get a left-winger in.
