Robins Sign Keeper Collis

Former Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Steve Collis has joined City on a contract that lasts until the end of the season.

The stopper left Crewe at the end of the year but has quickly joined up with Gary Johnson who was his boss at Yeovil Town.

He is likely to be on the bench for City's game against Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

'Steve is a player I know very well from my time at Yeovil and he is a very capable keeper,' Johnson told the club's official website.

'Steve contacted us after leaving Crewe and asked if he could come training and he's been with us for a few weeks now.

'Not a lot of people are aware of his situation and he's sneaked under the radar to an extent. We've got ourselves a very good keeper and he will provide strong competition for Dean Gerken.

'He wasn't No.3 goalkeeper at Crewe, he had a disagreement with them when cutbacks meant they had to go without a goalkeeping coach. That wasn't going to help his game so he looked to move on.'

In factt he was number 3 because he has been awful when in the team. Good luck to him though, there is ability there somehere.

The move doesn't fill me with confidence considering Crewe replaced him with Flapper Phillips! Sounds more like another Johnson 'Yes Man' to have around the dressing room to me...

@Tins - 'Yes man'? You keep using this phrase! How long have you been a football manager?

@Adzeds - That's sounds like some of the crap being spouted by the club recently! Hmmm...
