Strikers Reveal Pressure Release

City's in-form strike duo Danny Haynes and Nicky Maynard have both spoken of how the change of manager last week has seen the pressure lift at the club.

Since Gary Johnson's departure, City have wracked up an impressive seven goals in two games with five of those coming from the pacy strike pair.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post, Haynes revealed: "Everything is a lot more relaxed now and the pressure the lads were under has been lifted.

"We're able to concentrate on playing our football rather than worrying about the opposition and things that are happening elsewhere."

Johnson was often guilty of being pre-occupied with the opposition instead of focusing on our strengths and since his departure last week, City have demonstrated an attacking verve often lacking in the last two years of his reign.

His former assistant and current caretaker Keith Millen has since settled the team into a 3-5-2 formation, which seems to suit the players down to the ground for now.

Maynard said after the 5-2 win over Barnsley in midweek: "That particular formation seems to suit us. It means we can get into the opposition penalty area more often knowing that the ball is going to come.

"We're not making it up as we go along, we actually know what is going to happen. When Paul Hartley gets the ball in midfield, we know what he expects us to do."

City travel to basement side Peterborough tomorrow in hope of getting only our third away win of the season.
