'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Louis Sings Millen's Praises

City captain Louis Carey has lavished praise on caretaker manager Keith Millen for the impact he has had on the team in recent weeks.

Carey partnered Millen in central defence in his younger days and considers 'Milly' to have had a huge impact on the squad since Gary Johnson's departure.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post over the weekend, City-legend Louis said: "Sometimes a change of face and ideas and a different voice can work when things go stale.

"Management has changed over the years and it's become more of a science. Milly is very strong on the technical side of things, whereas some of the older-style managers tend to rant and rave a bit more.

"Milly prefers to set out the tactics, pick the team and then ask us to come and see him if any of us have a problem. He won't ignore you or try to put you down - he is prepared to listen to you, is easy to talk to and will always try to talk things through.

"He will be straight with you and tell you why you are not playing and what you need to do to improve and get into the team. I think the lads respect that,"
Carey insightfully revealed.

Whilst many City fans, myself included, believe an outside face should be brought in, Millen is certainly putting forward a strong case to be considered and has seen his odds tumble with the bookies from 50/1 outsider a few weeks ago to a 6/1 joint-second favourite on the back of 7 points from the last 3 games.
