JEVONS DECIDES ON CITY

The news that Yeovil Town's Phil Jevons has opted to sign for City despite competition from several other clubs is welcome indeed.

Liverpudlian Jevons is a talented and prolific goalscorer who will be a valuable addition to our squad and should take some of the pressure off Captain Marvel, Steve Brooker.

It is only to be hoped that the optimistic vibes emanating from Ashton concerning a new deal for Steve are not premature. A front duo of Jevons and Brooker, with the acquisition of injury back up(s), should strike fear into Division One opponents and further our chances of a realistic promotion challenge.

He impressed at Yeovil who didn't want him to go, so a good signing I should say.

The jury are still out, but if his performance at Ashton Gate is typical, he's a useful performer.
