If today's Daily Mail is to be believed then Nicky Maynard will be moving to Wolves in the upcoming close season, otherwise known as the silly season amongst the footballing fraternity.
In fairness, Wolves are being linked with everyone now Mick McCarthy has kept them in th Premiership, with Scunthorpe's prolific Gary Hooper another one they are supposed to be after.
But what the Mail failed to mention is City chairman Steve Lansdown's desire to keep hold of a player he considers an 'investment'.
Lansdown, who made the top 150 of this year's UK rich-list, insisted: "Nicky's been showing he's a quality player with the type of goals he has been scoring this season.
"You have to invest in quality but since he's got better and better since he came here.
"Nicky has another two years on his contract - it makes it worthwhile him signing a four-year contract when he joined," Lansdown told bcfc.co.uk.
With Crewe due 20% of any profit on the £2.25m City forked out two years ago, it would take in excess of £5m to tempt Lansdown in parting with his prized asset, especially if you consider Chopra went for £6m a few seasons ago.
