Hartley Linked With Hearts Return

City midfielder Paul Hartley is the subject of an ambitious bid from SPL outfit Hearts.

Hartley, 33, has 12-months left on his contract but is thought to be keen on a return north of the border to be closer to his family.

Hearts manager Jim Jefferies told today's Daily Express: "All I can say is that Paul Hartley is a name that has been put to us and we are aware he is available."

Jefferies' comments that Hartley is available will come as a surprise to many City fans, suggesting that City manager Steve Coppell is open to offers.
