City raid Cherries for Pitman

City are poised to sign Bournemouth hot-shot Brett Pitman for a fee in the region of £800,000.

Pitman, 22, had been set to join Premiership newboys Blackpool earlier in the week only for the deal to break down over personal terms.

But City boss Keith Millen has stepped in for the prolific Jersey-born striker, who scored a hat-trick for the Cherries against Peterborough last weekend.

Personal terms have already been agreed with the six-foot marksman but the deal is thought to be subject to Pitman successfully passing a medical at Ashton Gate on Monday.

Meanwhile, City's interest in Wolves striker Andy Keogh seems to have cooled after the Midlands club put a £2.5 million price tag on his head.
