'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Millen delighted with City spirit

City boss Keith Millen has expressed his delight at the level of performance during the 2-0 win over Scunthorpe last weekend.

Goals in each half from Albert Adomah and David Clarkson ensured our first three points of the season at Glanford Park leaving Millen to be proud of his new players.

"The performance is the main thing," he told Radio Bristol. "We spoke over the last two weeks about the performance and the attitude of the players, the togetherness.

"I didn't once mention about us getting the first win because if you get the performance, the result will come and I didn't want us to play with any fear.

"Obviously, that first win is vital for anyone and for us to get that hopefully it will kick-start us now.

"The more results you get, the more confidence you get. We have been a little bit fragile in possession but once we scored first, you could see the confidence coming back in the team.

"This is a start. It'll certainly give the players a lot more belief, a little bit more confidence."

City are back in Championship action on Tuesday night when Watford are the visitors to Ashton Gate (7.45pm).
