Caulker arrives on loan

City have taken young Spurs and England starlet Steven Caulker on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old centre-back trained with City on Saturday and is expected to make his debut at Pompey on Tuesday night.

Caulker follows his Tottenham team-mate Danny Rose down the M4, who penned a similar long-term loan deal earlier this month.

By the terms of both of their agreements, Spurs can recall either player after the initial 28-days.

Caulker spent last season on loan at Yeovil before going on to represent England at the U19 European Championship's in France over the summer.

His form in France, where England made the semi-final's before being knocked out by eventual winners Spain, led him to make his Spurs debut in the Carling Cup defeat with Arsenal at White Hart Lane last week.

this boy is the real deal and he will be an excellent signing for you.

Lets hope so. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets recalled pretty soon though given injuries to Gallas, Bassong and King over the weekend.

Can we have him back for Wednesday please?

Surley we can get the lad back again giving the state of our own centre back situation , a gentleman`s agreement could be arranged and promises made to City when the injury crisis is at a better state .

'Arry sanctioned the deal on Friday - before any of your players got crocked at the weekend - so he'll be hear at least until the end of October.
