Nyatanga May Still Go Out On Loan

City manager Keith Millen has suggested that defender Lewin Nyatanga could move on loan in a bid to regain full fitness.

The 22-year-old Welsh international was injured in the the final game of pre-season against Blackpool in August and has yet to feature for City this season.

And Millen believes it's best for all parties that Nyatanga gets games under his belt before being able to challenge for a place in the City first team.

"He needs games to be ready for the first team and if that means playing in the reserves then so be it," Millen told BBC Radio Bristol.

"But if something comes up that appealed to him and us then we would look at it."

Millen moved swiftly to deny that Nyatanga had fallen out of favour by insisting the ex-Derby man was still part of his plans.

"He would have been told by now if he need to find another club and that's not the case," he said.

"I see him as competition on the left-hand side of defence.

"He's one that's in our development groups, even though he's played a lot of games, and is still young and learning."

The Welshman is expected to continue his return from injury in a specially arranged reserve team friendly against Swansea on Thursday.
