Hendo keen to remain a Glover

City keeper Stephen Henderson has insisted he would be happy to remain on loan at Yeovil Town, to prevent himself from "rotting away" at Ashton Gate.

The Republic of Ireland U21 stopper is approaching the end of his loan spell in Somerset, with two games left before his current deal expires.

Speaking to the Evening Post, the former Aston Villa keeper said: "It has been absolutely brilliant at Yeovil.

"It always seemed to make sense to come here considering the location. I was happy it got sorted when it did because I was kind of rotting away at Bristol City. It is kind of hard when you have got England's No 1 (David James) there (at City), but I need to play this year.

"If it is at Yeovil, then great, but, if not, I just need to be playing football. I think we will make a decision after the Sheffield Wednesday game about what is going to happen.

'I am happy, I am enjoying my football and I do not see why I cannot just stay."

Henderson has two games left of his loan spell and is expected to feature in the games against Rochdale and Sheffield Wednesday before a decision has to be made.
