Stray ball nearly takes out McAllister!

City left-back Jamie McAllister has survived being whacked on the head by a stray golf ball to line up against Cardiff on Saturday.

The under-fire Scot was taking part in the annual City Golf Day a the Kendalshire on Wednesday when he was struck by the drive of a City fan!

Forced to dive for cover, McAllister told bcfc.co.uk: "I was searching for my ball in the trees when one of the lads hitting down the adjacent fairway shouted fore.

"I saw the ball flying towards me from the tee but lost it in the sun.

"I crouched thinking I would be safe anyway because I was in the bushes but as I ducked down the ball smacked me on the back of the head!

"I fell to the ground. There was blood - lots of it - and a big lump on the back of my head. The boys ran down really worried.

"An ambulance was phoned and the paramedics checked me over. I didn't need to go to hospital; I've just got a large bump and cut to show for it."

So, come on then you lot, who was it with the unerringly accurate tee-shot?

Close but no cigar!
