Caulker receives the plaudits

City boss Keith Millen has taken the time out to praise young Spurs centre-back Steven Caulker.

The 18-year-old arrived on a season-long loan from White Hart Lane in August and has impressed everyone during his time at Ashton Gate.

His performances so far in a City shirt earned him a first call-up to the England Under-21 squad for the recent friendly against Germany and Millen was delighted his young defender got the recognition he deserves.

"He's been terrific since he's come here and Tottenham are delighted with his development," Millen told fans at Thursday's fan meeting.

"We have regular conversations with Tottenham and they were pleased with his call-up to the England Under-21 set-up.

"I'd like to think that had something to do with how well he's playing for us and Steve Wigley's involvement.

"We've got him on loan until the end of the season and we're led to believe he's highly thought of in Tottenham's long-term plans.

"Maybe if he feels he can't get regular games at White Hart Lane then he might have to move on but I don't know if that will be the case."

think he has the potential to go all the way to be honest. I can see spurs looking to loan him out both this and next season with view of bringing back somewhere near the finished article, that would also coinside with Ledleys contract running out and in that time who knows what the position of both Woodgate and willaim Gallas will be.

He's been a class act for us and has got better with every game. It's hard to believe he's only 18, considering he plays like someone with 300 apps under his belt.
