Daggers take Akinde on loan

City striker John Akidne has joined League One side Dagenham and Redbridge on loan until the end of the season.

The big forward joins the Daggers after a successful four-month loan with the Gas, where he scored no goals in 18 matches!

"There was a lot of interest in John and he's opted for this loan move to Dagenham," boss Keith Millen told bcfc.co.uk.

"Hopefully he'll go there and get some first team games under his belt. He needs to give his career a real kickstart."

Akinde joined from Ebbsfleet in August 2008 for 140,000 but is set to leave Ashton Gate permanently at the end of the season.
