Caulker relishing Yakubu challenge

City's on-loan centre-back Steven Caulker has admitted that he is relishing the challenge of marking Leicester striker Yakubu on Friday night.

The 19-year-old believes a tussle with the Foxes Everton loanee will be a perfect way to gauge his own Premiership skills.

"I'm really looking forward to the challenge," Caulker said.

"I've always said I'm happy to test myself against the best and Yakubu is a real class act.

"It's not something I'm going to shy away from or be frightened of. In fact, I look upon it as a great chance to show people what I can do."

And while Caulker is keen to shut out the Nigerian striker for City, he will also have a eye on impressing the onlooking Spurs scouts in the stands.

"It's a good challenge to face someone who is Premier League quality. That's what I aspire to be and facing him will be a good test to see how far away I am from that level."
