Macca out for a month
Bristol City left-back Jamie McAllister faces a month on the sidelines, after picking up a fractured rib at Leicester on Friday.
The Scottish international was forced off the pitch 64 minutes into City's 2-1 defeat at the Walkers Stadium, following a robust challenge that left him nursing calf and rib injuries.
McAllister has struggled with breathing difficulties over the weekend and went for precautionary X-rays on Monday, where the extent of his problems were revealed.
City boss Keith Millen told bcfc.co.uk: "We were hoping it wasn't too serious but now the scans have revealed a fracture.
"It's disappointing for the lad and the team, but it's been the story of our season with key players being ruled out for lengthy spells.
"It now gives somebody else a chance to come and stake a claim in that position, but we also have to look at strengthening that area of the squad with immediate concern."
City's medical staff were informed that McAllister faces a minimum four weeks out and the Scot is still in pain now.
The 32-year-old added: "It's been one of the most painful injuries I've ever experienced. I've had trouble sleeping and it's still quite sore now."
