Bristol City manager Keith Millen believes that Brett Pitman and Nicky Maynard are going to be an exciting strike partnership to watch in the coming games.
Both strikers got on the scoresheet in the 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday, despite being paired together for the first time.
Pitman opened the scoring three minutes before the break with an unstoppable turn and finish, while a dreadful back-header from Clarke Carlisle gifted Maynard the all important second after the break.
"Pitman and Maynard both bagged a goal in what was their first start together, something which fans have been waiting to see for a long time," said Millen.
"Both Brett and Nicky are proven goalscorers. With Nicky having missed so much of the season through injury, it was the first time they had started together and the partnership looks promising.
"We have made it clear we are not content with becoming safe from relegation.
"We want to finish as high as possible in the table and certainly in the top half."
