Marv relishing Den reunion

City midfielder Marvin Elliott is relishing his first return to the New Den since moving to Ashton Gate four years ago.

The 25-year-old midfield powerhouse was part of the Millwall side that beat a promotion-winning City team 1-0 at the end of the 2006/07 season.

Elliott moved west on a three-year contract that summer and the Londoner admits he cannot wait to run out in front of his former fans.

"I'm looking forward to going back there and seeing a few old friends," Marv told bcfc.co.uk.

"A lot has changed since I was there but I still have a few friends at the New Den. It's a massive game for everyone.

"I think everyone knows about the atmosphere at the New Den and that will add to the game and the occasion.

"Millwall beat us 3-0 on the opening day and fair play to them because they deserved it. They've had a very good season and still have a chance of the play-offs.

"We don't like seeing teams doing the double over us. It doesn't happen often and we are determined to not let that happen against Millwall."

Elliott rose through the ranks with the Lions and was handed the task of marking Cristiano Ronaldo in 2004's FA Cup final against Manchester United.
