City set to sign Bolasie

City have had an undisclosed offer for winger Yannick Bolasie accepted by cash-strapped Plymouth Argyle.

The 22-year-old is due at Ashton Gate for talks over a two-year contract on Tuesday, despite boss Keith Millen being on a family holiday in Florida until the end of the week.

Newly-promoted Brighton and Charlton Athletic were thought to be leading the chase for the Congolese wideman, but acting Argyle chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed City's move.

"We have had a bid for Yannick Bolasie from Bristol City which we have accepted," Ridsdale told the Plymouth Herald. "They have been given permission to talk to him."

Under pressure to sell players to reduce their crippling debts, Argyle are believed to want Bolasie to waive the wages Argyle owe him in order to force the move through.

Providing the player accepts Plymouth's proposal, City's terms and passes a medical at Ashton Gate, he could become a Robins player as early as Wednesday.

Bolasie finished as Argyle's joint top scorer with seven goals from 28 starts as Plymouth were relegated to League Two.
