Caulker linked with Swansea switch

Former City loan star Steven Caulker has been linked with a season-long loan move to newly-promoted Swansea.

The 19-year-old starred while on loan at Ashton Gate from parent club Tottenham Hotspur last season and City boss Keith Millen has made no secret of his desire to bring the England U21 defender back next season.

But media reports on Thursday are linking the Spurs centre-back with a loan switch to the Liberty Stadium as the Swans prepare for life in the top flight.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "Steven Caulker is a player Brendan is interested in bringing in and we're actually speaking to Tottenham about that."

Caulker was a rock at the back for the Robins last season, making 30 Championship appearances and picking up the Young Player of the Year award.

Was always going to happen. Swansea would be a good fit for him, too - given the way they play their football.
