Bristol City v Swindon Postponed

Bristol City's Carling Cup first-round clash with Swindon at Ashton Gate will not take place tonight because of the Riots that took place overnight.

The mindlessness that started in London has now spread to Bristol as well as Liverpool and Birmingham.

City chairman Colin Sexstone told the club's official website: 'It's disappointing but we totally understand the reasons given by the police.

'Clearly the most important factor is people's safety and these are exceptional circumstances the police are dealing with.'
