City linked with Boyata move
Bristol City are being linked with a loan swoop for Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata, according to several media outlets.
SkySports.com, the Daily Mail and the Manchester Evening News all report that City boss Keith Millen is trying to entice the 20-year-old to Ashton Gate on a season-long loan.
But the Belgian defender is believed to be keen on remaining in the top-flight, with Bolton and Everton both interested in signing him permanently before the transfer window shuts later this month.
However, Mancini reportedly favours a loan switch for his academy graduate, who has fallen down the pecking order this summer following the arrival of Serbian centre-back Stefan Savic.
And Millen remains undeterred in his bid to bolster his backline, but recognises the need to sell before he can buy.
"I realise the squad is too big and I have to get the numbers down," the City manager told the Bristol Evening Post on Monday. "I've known that for a long time and have been working hard to get players out.
"Hopefully, business will pick up the nearer we get to the deadline and I can get a couple out. If that happens, then I can crack on with trying to bring in another defender, hopefully before the end of August.
"If it doesn't happen, then I'll have to look at loaning players when the window for loans reopens in September."
