Defender Blow For Robins

Defender Blow For Robins

Bristol City defender Jamie McAllister looks set to be sidelined for around eight weeks with an ankle injury.

The 33-year-old right-back picked up the injury in the draw with Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, and as feared, he will need surgery to put the problem right.

He told the club's official website: 'I'm absolutely gutted. I'd felt pain in the ankle and went to go and get an injection just to settle it down.
Sadly I was told an injection wouldn't do anything for the problem and that I needed an operation.

'This is the first operation I've required in my whole career.

'It's such a bad time, with the new season just underway, and I'll be working hard to get back as soon as possible.'
