Pearson Hints At Longer Ashton Gate Stay

Derby County midfielder Stephen Pearson has dropped a big hint that he would like to stay at Ashton Gate after his initial loan period comes to an end.

29 year old Pearson has said there is 'every chance' that a permanent move could be made after he made a big impact in his first game for the Robins against Burnley on Saturday.

Pearson was signed on Friday then on Saturday he made a goal and scored one as City went on to beat the side from Turf Moor 3-1.

And with his contract with Derby running out in the summer, Ashton Gate could well be his next destination.

Speaking to the Daily Star he said: 'I think Derby were expecting me to move on at the end of last season and, for whatever reason, it didn't happen.

'I've been there four years and now I am looking for a fresh start.

'If I play well and the club want me to stay then there is every chance it will happen.
