'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McInnes Dishes Out The Praise.

City manager Derek McInnes was full of praise for his side and the fans as his side beat leaders Southampton at Ashton Gate.

It`s fair to say that both of City`s goals had a bit of luck about them, but they all count so they say.

Albert Adomah broke the deadlock after 48 minutes as his low shot from just inside the box deflected off a Southampton defender to wrong-foot goalkeeper Kelvin Davis.

And it happened again sic minutes from time when Nicky Maynard`s effort was helped came off Jose Fonte to give Davis no chance once again.

City manager Derek McInnes has now seen his side take 13 points from their last five games.

'The players deserve all the credit for how hard they have worked since I took over,' said the former St Johnstone manager.

'There is a confidence about our play now and everyone is contributing.

'But we are aware that a slap in the face could be just around the corner and we need to continue in the same way at Watford on Tuesday night.

'It was great to see a bigger crowd in the ground and I hope the supporters saw how important their backing is to the lads.'
