Striker Nicky Maynard could well be staying at Ashton Gate after all according to the player himself.
The 24 year old has so far stalled on a deal that was put on the table for him in April, but that seems to be because of the poor start that City had to the season, now things look like changing, Maynard could very well stay.
And the reason for the change around is the arrival of new manager Derek McInnes who has installed a new belief in the side, now Maynard is enjoying playing again.
'We're still in talks and have been since the offer was first put on the table in April,' Maynard told the Bristol Evening Post: 'Those talks are ongoing, I've spoken to the gaffer and he knows where my head is at and I know what he is all about.
'But the key thing as far as I'm concerned is that the team is doing well. We're doing well after a poor start and I'm really enjoying myself again. If that continues then of course there is a better chance of me signing a new deal.
'I'm like any other player in that I want to play at the highest level possible and the manager's ambitions match my own. Hopefully, the team will keep on doing well, I'll keep on enjoying it and we'll see what happens.'
