Robins Swoop For Baggies Striker

Chris Wood has joined Bristol City on loan from West Brom until the end of the season.

The New Zealand striker can`t seem to get into the Baggie side although he has done well while on loan with Birmingham City for much of the current season.

During his stay at St Andrews he made 28 appearances scoring ten goals for Chris Hughton`s side who were hoping to re-sign the player for the rest of the season.

Derek McInnes told City's official website: 'Chris is someone I've been aware of for a while and I tried to sign him at St Johnstone. I'm delighted we've been able to add him to our squad.

'He's a big lad with good feet and he's already shown himself to be a proven goalscorer in the Championship.

'I'm sure he will prove a valuable addition to the squad. I've seen him play a number of times, he's young, hungry and I'm sure he will enjoy his time with us.'

Is Maynard off to WBA though, that's the question. A lot of Brummie fans who are hacked off he's not extending with them on twitter that's for sure. Makes me wonder if it's part of a deal of some sort.
