'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Oppos View - Brian McDermott - Reading.

Reading manager Brian McDermott said that he would not mind another signing after the two new boys helped to turn over Bristol City on Saturday.

Jason Roberts scored the all important goal that separated the two sides while Tomasz Cywka had a good run out as sub, causing the City defenders a bit of trouble and winning one of their two penalties.

Roberts` goal came from the penalty spot in the second half of this game and it proved to be the winner, lifting the Royals up into a play off place.

'Jason trained with us for the first time on Friday morning and he has done really well to last 70 minutes before coming off,' said McDermott.

'He added something to us today and we can build off him because he has power and pace.

'I am really pleased with the signing and he gave the whole place a lift when he walked into the dressing room.'

McDermott also praised Cywka who came on as a substitute and won the second of Reading`s brace of spot kicks

'He had a chance to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal in Poland but when he heard we were interested in him he gave up the chance to sign for us for six months which showed the sort of character he is,' added McDermott.

'We may bring more players in before the deadline if there is an opportunity but the players we have got here have done well for me.

'I am sure we feel we could do better and I am sure that will be the case but if you are going to play well you still need to win and that's what we did.'
