Cisse On Slump In Form

Cisse On Slump In Form

City midfielder Kalifa Cisse says that the players in the City squad must shoulder some of the blame for the club`s league position.

Cisse says that the players are low on confidence after seemingly forgetting how to win, but with relegation being a very real threat, the lads have got to not start feeling sorry for themselves.

The loss of confidence has seen the club go down to heavy defeats in the last few games, if the belief was there, these are games they surely should have got something from.

On Saturday, as soon as Blackpool equalised, all the good work they had put in after taking the lead all drained away, the side was a shadow of its earlier self.

And Cisse admits that the side has had trouble with injuries and suspensions, but they cannot use that as an excuse.

He said to the Bristol Evening Post: 'We are struggling because of a lot of things - but we must not blame it all on referees and injuries.

'Collectively, we are not performing as well as we know we can and we have to look at ourselves.

'There will always be a part of any season when you feel everything is going against you, but we have to do better.

'I know I can do a lot better than I have been and I have to take responsibility for my performances.

'We cannot feel sorry for ourselves or look to blame others - we have to keep our heads up and we have to stick together and be strong.'
