'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gerken Gets More Praise From City Boss.

Derek McInnes was delighted with his side`s three points they gained from the win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, and Dean Gerken was singled out for his display.

Gerken again put in a match winning display against Forest which helped City win the encounter, another great performance since taking over the goalkeepers spot from David James.

It was Gerken`s third game on the bounce and each time he has come up with great saves to repay the faith shown in him by McInnes.

The City boss told reporters: 'He's always been a popular lad in the dressing room but he's more popular than ever after that. He's the one player in the squad who had to wait to get his chance but he has come in and done well.

'To be fair apart from one outstanding one, most of his saves you would have expected him to make. But he's done everything very well in what was a proper team performance.

'We thought it was a game we could win but we had to show a lot of resolve and discipline. Once we got the penalty we had something to hold onto and I thought we defended our box very well.'

Dean has done well since getting back into the side but anything would have been better than that clown James.
Natch
Time to hoof James out of the door and get in a good 2nd keeper
