'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McInnes Hails Team Effort

Bristol City boss Derek McInnes says that it is not time to sit back and look back at the win over Coventry, there is still lots of work to do.

McInnes spoke after the 3-1 win over fellow struggler's Coventry insisting that it`s not over just because a four point gap has now opened up at the foot of the table.

Jon Stead was on the mark to make up for giving the visitors the lead with an own goal and that was followed up with goals from substitutes Yannick Bolasie and Chris Wood.

There is now just four games left until the end of the season and both McInnes and his Coventry counterpart Andy Thorn agreed that nothing is yet settled.

The City boss said: 'We will need the same commitment, if not more, to get anything at Birmingham on Saturday and the same applies to our other remaining games.

'To beat Nottingham Forest and Coventry in the space of three days is a magnificent effort by the players and I couldn't have asked for more. But the job is not done yet. All we have done is given ourselves a decent chance of staying up.

'We picked two different teams for the two Easter games, knowing that we would need freshness and energy in front of our own fans in the second of them. That's how it worked out and the six changes demonstrated that it is a squad, rather than a team effort, which will be all important.'
