McInnes A Relived Man.
While many Bristol City fans celebrated the fact that City had avoided relegation to league one, manager Derek McInnes admitted that it was more a feeling of relief for him rather than joy.
The threat of the drop has been hanging over the club for quite some time this season, but just at the right time everyone pulled together and the lads came up trumps in their fight for survival.
But McInnes always insisted that his side could do it and they did with a game to spare, but the Robins boss admitted that he felt relief at the final whistle of the 2-0 win over Barnsley.
He told reporters: 'The overriding emotion is of relief, rather than joy. It has been battle against relegation from the moment I arrived and tonight at last we can relax a bit.
'It was never going to be a classic game on a day when the result was everything to us. The players deserve huge credit for going on a seven-match unbeaten run when it mattered most.
'We can all enjoy a drink tonight before preparing to take three more points at Burnley in our final game. Staying up means so much to so many people.
'But the hard work is only just beginning. I know how big this club can be and I want the next celebration here to be one brought about by promotion.'
