Carey Set To Sign New Deal With City

Veteran defender Louis Carey looks likely to sign a new one year deal with the club.

The 35 year old has an offer on the table which is believed to be one with quite a big pay cut, but the defender is not worried about that, he just wants to end his playing career with Bristol City.

There was a time at the end of last season that Carey was not too sure whether he would receive a new offer or not but his performances towards the end of the season left Derek McInnes with an easy decision.

Carey told the Bristol Evening Post: 'I'm a Bristol boy and I love the club and the city. Financially, the deal is not what I'm used to, but I'm not worried about the money.

'In future, more of my money will be performance-related, but I just want to stay here in Bristol.'
