City Hope To Complete Heaton Deal Soon

Bristol City boss Derek McInnes has confirmed that the club are interested in signing former Cardiff keeper Tom Heaton.

The Robins are in talks with the player and hope that a deal can be finalised before the club goes on a tour of Scotland starts at the end of the week.

If successful, McInnes will have beaten off competition from a host of clubs who were all interested in getting the keeper`s signature.

'We are in discussions with Tom and his representatives,' McInnes told the club`s official website.

'He has been with us for around ten days now, a few days in Bristol before coming to Spain with us. There could be a deal to be done, but there is nothing further at this stage.'
